Prior to beginning sessions with clients, Washington State Law requires mental health providers to:

• • Obtain informed consent from clients.

  • Provide written information to clients about practices policies, client rights, and limits to confidentiality.

  • Keep a signed services agreement with clients on file in the clinical record.
