Sexual Well-being

I have devoted my professional career to promoting joyful, healthy, sexual well-being. I have been teaching at various universities and colleges since 1975 and been working with individual's and couples in private practice since 1984. I have a breadth of knowledge, training, and experience that provides a basis to explore many diverse issues of sexuality. Below is a partial list of issues of focus in my practice:

    • interpersonal relating and sexual satisfaction in intimate relationships (e.g., heterosexual, gay, lesbian, bisexual, and polyamorous)

    • loss in relationships (e.g., breakup, infidelity, decisions to end a relationship, abusive behavior)

    • sexual inexperience, inhibitions, phobias, dysfunction, fixations, compulsions

    • recovery from traumatic sexual experiences in childhood or adulthood

    • health issues that affect sexuality (e.g., menopause, sexually transmitted infection, pelvic pain, aging, cancer)

    • experiences related to reproduction (e.g., infertility, unwanted pregnancy, relinquishment for adoption, miscarriage, terminating pregnancy, postpartum depression)

    • gender and sexual identity issues (e.g, coming out, transitioning)
